Work on the problem area of the trackbed near the bridge
DATE POSTED: 02 Jun 2024The Pway team made further progress on the trackbed this weekend. The top muddy layer in part of the area between the birch trees and the bridge has been scraped away revealing the firm, compacted material underneath. 6F5 aggregate is now being used to build up the sub-base in layers which will be rolled and compacted and finally topped with Terram and the ballast on which the track will be laid. Care will also be taken to provide the correct slopes for drainage.
