Volunteer event, grand summer draw and work continues on the extension

Another busy weekend at the station. We welcomed a steady flow of visitors who had come to enquire about volunteering and are pleased that a number of them have decided to join us.

Meanwhile, we conducted the draw for our grand summer draw in aid of the railway. (The actual drawing of the tickets was carried out by one of our new volunteers!)

And of course the Pway team were hard at work on the extension using ranging rods for track alignment work as we near the end of the project and they also did more embankment clearing and sloping work. The team continued with keying, fishplating and pinning work on the last 2 panels already laid. Work started on the last 60' panel (levelling, sleeper laying and rail positioning) after clearing unused sleepers out of the way.
