Sleepers and chairs moved into position. Ballasting starts
DATE POSTED: 22 Sep 2024On Saturday the P-way team took full advantage of the fact that the threatened rain did not appear and it was a beautiful dry, sunny day. They took delivery of 160 tonnes of ballast. 12 packs of 24 sleepers were moved into position on the embankment adjacent to the bridge, along with pallets of chairs. They were then able to roll out Terram mebrane (starting from the Cattle Creep bridge end) and start spreading the ballast. A brilliant day's work!
