Over the bridge

In spite of the driving rain, Saturday 22nd November was a great day for the Permanent Way team, when a locomotive crossed Lamb House Bridge for the first time in nearly 60 years.

 

 

 

 

 

The last to run over the bridge, in 1966, was pulling a track removal train. The P-way volunteers have been out in all weathers for four years working up to this moment.  Next objective: to ballast all the way to the freshly-painted buffer stop.
