Open Day and Model Railway Show success

A fantastic turnout for the Open Day/ Model Railway event today: we welcomed many hundreds of visitors who enjoyed the layouts, the guided tours, the signal box demonstrations, the ballasting demonstration, P62 visits, the stalls and, of course, the cafe. Attendance was helped by the fact that it was a beautiful sunny day and the first day of the school holidays. The new Riverside car park and the overflow car parks were very busy! Our volunteer staff did a fantastic job looking after our visitors.

Meanwhile, the Pway team continued to work on the embankment South of the bridge: the downrail was positioned and pinned completing the 60' panel after the bridge. Some 40 sleepers were moved further down the extension for future use. The trackbed was levelled for the next panel and all the sleepers positioned. They also answered questions from interested visitors passing by on their way to the station.
