News Update 5th May 2022
DATE POSTED: 05 May 2022We have now moved the public on to the realigned Trailway. Thanks to favourable weather, this has been achieved six weeks ahead of schedule. The response from the public has been very positive- the new route is a great improvement. There is some landscaping work still to be done but this is not critical at present.
We can now safely remove the remaining excess spoil on the western side and transport it over the bridge for use at the northern end. Once this has been done, a full level survey will be undertaken in order to establish the formation levels for the railway track. There is a 2.5m rise in level from the station yard to Lamb House Bridge which will require a transitional vertical profile with a maximum gradient of 1 in 80 on a gentle right hand curve. Tricky bit of surveying!
