Extension update 18th October 2021

Work continued this weekend along the route of the temporary Trailway diversion on the Western side of the embankment, which will eventually be the track bed. Smaller vegetation is being cleared first: larger trees will be felled when they are no longer in leaf.

The awkward change in levels at this point required a smaller digger to get in and work on that part of the embankment.. We think there may originally have been a headshunt at the lower level. The level at the centre of the embankment was probably raised by dumping of spoil when the goods yard was converted to the present day industrial estate.
