A New Year’s message from NDR chairman Gavin Collins

In a new year’s message, NDR chairman Gavin Collins says ‘The new year is always a great time to look forward and 2026 promises to be as exciting as 2025’.  He lays out NDR’s current priorities for the year: to prepare for running passenger services, to investigate the possibility of building a new restoration shed, and to consult with Dorset Council on the prospects of extending track southwards.

Beyond these main priorities, there is, he says, lots of other activity planned for the year on the station infrastructure, including the restoration of the platform canopy and valance and repair of the Mk 1 coach, replacing 100 or so fence posts, and tree planting and environmental work.

He also wishes all NDR’s volunteers, members, supporters and visitors a very happy new year.
